Product Description

Sitara — Black Tepchi Chikankari Saree

Sitara, meaning star, shines brightest in black. This stunning georgette saree in deep black is hand-embroidered in tepchi chikankari: a running stitch technique that creates long, flowing lines of embroidery, drawing floral trails, creepers, and geometric motifs across the fabric in a style that is simultaneously bold and graceful. White tepchi thread on black georgette creates a contrast as dramatic as a star-filled night sky.

Why You'll Love It

  • Georgette Fabric — Sheer, flowing, and beautifully draping — black georgette has a depth and elegance that no other fabric can replicate, and carries white embroidery magnificently.
  • Tepchi Chikankari Embroidery — A running stitch technique that creates flowing, continuous embroidery lines — tepchi is known for its elongated, graceful motifs that give the saree a distinctly artisanal, hand-drawn quality.
  • Dramatic Black Palette — Black chikankari saree is a rare and sophisticated choice — pair with white or silver jewellery and a contrasting blouse for a modern bridal look, or go monochromatic for pure elegance.
  • Evening & Formal Occasion Wear — Sitara in black is designed for moments that deserve drama — evening receptions, gala dinners, and celebrations where you want to look magnificent.
  • Rare Artisan Technique — Tepchi embroidery on black georgette requires exceptional precision from the artisan — the results are always breathtaking.

Sitara in black is a saree for the stars — and for the woman bold enough to wear them.

Care Instructions

  • Dry clean recommended to preserve the black georgette and tepchi embroidery
  • If hand-washing, use cold water separately — dark colours may bleed initially
  • Store folded in soft muslin away from light to maintain the depth of the black
  • Iron on very low heat from the reverse; avoid pressing on the embroidery

Fabric & care

Mulmul, chanderi, organza or georgette ground with hand chikankari embroidery. Cold hand wash separately, dry in shade — never wring the embroidered panels.

About the hand-embroidery

Each panel is worked by hand in Lucknow and carries slight variation — that is the hand, not a fault. We name the artisan on every garment label.
